Activated Sludge Processes

Drinking water required the precision application of the oxygen molecule in several parts of a treatment train. Oxygen is used for efficient onsite generation of ozone for odor mitigation issues. It can also be used to enhance taste. Another emerging application is the stripping of VOCs to prevent formation of THMs in the chloramination process.

Onsite generation of oxygen is especially important at installations with rapidly rising population densities and utility costs.
