PCI Gases and Martin Energy Group Partner for Renewable Natural Gas Production Using PCI’s VSA (DOCS) Oxygen Generating Systems

PCI Gases and Martin Energy Group have successfully collaborated to integrate VSA (DOCS) Oxygen Generating Systems for Anaerobic Digester Systems. Martin Energy Group, based in Tipton, Missouri, is a global provider of complete solutions for generator packages, combined heat and power systems (CHP) systems, microgrids, landfill gas, wastewater treatment, and anaerobic digester design & construction. With hundreds of CHP units installed globally, they have chosen to include PCI’s Systems for oxygen injection in specific Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) projects.
These projects involve upgrading biogas from anaerobic digesters into natural gas quality by removing impurities, mainly Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) gas. According to Jacob Nolting, Mechanical Engineer at Martin Energy group “To achieve this, media beds are used to remove H2S, and oxygen is injected at a controlled rate to reoxidize the media, which increases bed life substantially”. PCI Gases is looking forward to continuing its successful business relationship with Martin Energy Group for future projects.
VSA Technology
To produce oxygen from air, PCI uses a proprietary Vacuum Swing Adsorption (VSA) process that eliminates many of the design problems associated with traditional on-site gas separation systems (PSA). Our innovative VSA system eliminates the need for process valves, feed air compressors, associated dryers and feed air filtering systems. Our robust VSA oxygen process extracts maximum sieve and power efficiencies = low cost (both CapX and OpX) high purity oxygen generation. Oxygen produced is 93% purity. Additional product/systems features include load following, remote monitoring and diagnostics along with an industry only 10-year warranty on the adsorber bed vessel. Average life span of our systems is 10-15+ years.
