Innovasea to Use Industry Leading PCI VSA Oxygen Generators in Its Automated aquaControl Solution

aquaControl helps fish farms combat low oxygen events and boost growth rates

Innovasea, a global leader in technologically advanced aquatic solutions for aquaculture and fish tracking, announced today that it will be using PCI VSA Oxygen Generators in its groundbreaking aquaControl solution, an automated environmental monitoring and control system that helps farm operators protect fish stocks from low oxygen events and maximize growth rates.

Innovasea’s aquaControl features a first-of-its-kind digital valve system that can be run autonomously or remotely via computer or mobile device, giving farm operators greater control over environmental conditions without having to be on-site to make adjustments.

In addition to providing oxygen generators for aquaControl, the partnership with PCI allows Innovasea to sell PCI components to land- and sea-based aquaculture operations that have legacy oxygenation systems.

Currently in use at fish farms in Canada and Norway, the end-to-end aquaControl solution enables farm operators to easily monitor environmental conditions in real time with wireless aquaMeasure sensors and then make adjustments within individual pens or across the entire site via aeration or oxygenation. This gives operators the ability to combat:

  • Harmful algal blooms
  • Temperature stratification or super chill events
  • Jellyfish infestations
  • Low levels of dissolved oxygen

Adding oxygen also helps improve fish health and stimulate appetite, helping farm operators to maximize growth rates.
